Braised Lamb (红烧羊肉)

Lamb is thought to be one of the healthier red meat. Also during winter, it keeps you warmer.

Instructions

  1. Add cubbed lamb in cold water and bring to boil. Wash and drain.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger, garlic, pepper, star anise, cinnamon stick, jujube (红枣),and drained lamb. Add cooking wine and bring to boil.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of rock candy (冰糖) and soy sauce. Bring to boil again and then cook with low heat for 65 minutes.
  4. Add green onion and cook for another 5 minutes.
